2022 | Brooklyn Park, MD Basketball Court
A group of local middle schoolers in the TCP Youth Empowerment program partnered with artist Charley Frances to create a custom mural design for the basketball court within Hammond’s Park.
After surveying 175 Brooklyn Park, MD residents, they created a design that was informed from community feedback— and then voted on by the public prior to installation.

Color & Line: Focus on color and line to create a mood and a feeling (as the community expressed not wanting to focus on portraits, history, politics, or football within the design)
Function: Make sure the court lines are easy to see & the design doesn’t interfere with the game
